My high school friend Bob Jones posted this OLD MEME that now has new and improved header wording. It is attributed to "High Church Coyote (Episcopal Humor)" -- so I went there and THEY have the SAME COMPLAINTS against FACEBOOK that I have -- HA!!!

ADMIN: While I appreciate Facebook's efforts to reduce online bullying, hate speech, and fake news, I also think their Al Gore Rhythm continues to require tweaking. I wish there was a way for me to contest some of these automatically flagged violations.

If you get one, I encourage you to contest it if you can.

In situations like this, where the context is lost but an otherwise humorous and innocuous comment gets flagged, a human review can restore the comment and remove the violation from your record.

Almost all of the Facebook Community Standards violations we've had here in HCC have been overturned on review.

Here is one example from just now.

    I have a favorite joke I tell sometimes, that goes, "Men are p i g s but it's a good thing we like pork..." Let's see if FB blocks me from posting it in this form, since it auto-blocked and wouldn't let me even post it intact.

    ADMIN UPDATE: Anecdotally, admins of other groups are telling stories similar to ours. Posts and comments that are obvious violations of Facebook's Community Standards are coming back as not violations while completely innocuous stuff is getting deleted and people are getting temporary bans. Facebook is seriously broken. On the upside, Facebook is free to use. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Researching, I’ve run into James Kenan of Louisville (one of the cities I grew up in), I believe he is one of the descendants of James Graham Kenan who with his brother Frank Hawkins Kenan, ran Standard Oil/ESSO/EXXON as top Ku Klux Klansmen through the late Twentieth Century.


Frank Hawkins Kenan II is the nephew of Thomas S. Kenan III of Chapel Hill, and is often pictured with Story Cowles. Frank is the son of Tom Kenan’s brother, Owen Kenan, who was murdered by his wife, Sterling Kenan, so she could control his wealth. When I was a member of First Presbyterian in Wilmington, NC half of 2011, the Old Dowagers just LOVED her, calling her “SQUIRTY KENAN” – because of a pesky saliva gland, nipple, or you-know-what – HA!!! But I never met her there, where she often attended services.

Also, James G. Kenan the first was who sent me to his Catholic wife’s nephew Gregg Loomis for legal help he could not give, but Gregg is who FIRST told me that the wealthy Episcopal Kenans hate only JEWS more than they hate “Niggers”. THREE of James Kenan's children became Catholic Clergy of Note, and Brutus, I think, changed his working name to Bruce Kenan and is primary to the development of the famous “Mall of America” in the upper mid-west.


Also, James One’s wife was Anne Clay, of the famous Kentucky Clays, and they were married at Runnymede Farm in Paris, KY, acquiring for the Kenans the BIGGEST coal-mining company in Kentucky. Just looking at the Kenan Genealogy, I see that James and Anne had a daughter named Sarah Graham Kenan – the EXACT SAME NAME as Mary Lily (Kenan) Flagler, then Bingham’s SISTER, who gave UNC Wilmington Sarah Graham Kenan Auditorium!!!


Kenans are forever RECYCLING NAMES – which makes research more difficult. You can search electronically in The Kenan Family in the original genealogy first published in 1967. I’ve opened it to page three for you, and it’s easy to navigate. They got me incorrectly as “Scott Daniel Kenan” in the index, but correctly as Scott David Kenan in the text:

Funny you mention McCartney and Shevell. Your family began to come up when I was looking into Atlantic City NJ operations tied with my blood relatives. 


James Kenan of Louisville KY came up first as connected with what I was looking into in NJ. Around the same time Nancy Shevell's family's NJ East Coast trucking business came up as did New Jersey native Lynne Rothschild. If I recall, I think the Shevell trucking business that trafficked along the East Coast from Canada to Puerto Rico is since shut down.


Do you know what any of this has to do with Frank Hawkins Kenan II / Story Cowles and why are you getting hits on that post this week?

    When will you realize it doesn’t matter where you come from it matters how you were raised. In my whole life I never dealt with prejudice until I came here. I lived in NY where you are surrounded by everyone. I never judged anyone for where they came from. My Grandparents each one of them were immigrants from Ireland. I was taught to be kind to everyone until they aren’t kind to you. I never asked someone where they were from and decided not to like that for that very reason.
