Hello, Friends —As a declaration of allegiance to our country, Americans stand facing the American flag and recite 31 words that reflect the freedom and values it stands for. I am proud to have introduced an amendment in the House Judiciary Committee this week, requiring every meeting to begin with the Pledge of Allegiance. We are charged with protecting the American people's Constitutional rights, and the Pledge of Allegiance is a national symbol of pride and unity. My amendment also gives members the ability to invite inspirational constituents to share and lead in the Pledge of Allegiance. It was a great honor to have been able to invite a veteran from my district to offer the Pledge of Allegiance, and I am very pleased that my amendment passed by voice! I am also proud to have cosponsored and voted "YES" on H. Con. Res. 9, Denouncing the Horrors of Socialism. The House of Representatives should categorically reject socialism, which is contrary to American values. As of 2017, nearly 940,000 residents in the state of Florida have escaped the horrors of socialist Cuba, and that number continues to grow. Socialism has failed in every country where it has been tried, and it will continue to fail. There is no place in the United States for authoritarian regimes, and I will continue to fight against it! Additionally, I cosponsored H. J. Res. 7, Relating to a national emergency declared by the President on March 13, 2020, which would end the COVID-19 national emergency. Across America, schools have reopened, mask mandates have been lifted, and the vast majority of workers have returned to the office. Even the President has said "the pandemic is over." It is time to end this never-ending power grab. I voted "YES" for this resolution, and I am glad it passed in the House of Representatives. CONGRESSMAN GAETZ: ATF MUST BE ABOLISHED!

Hesitating to shoot down a balloon that may be capturing sensitive information about our ICBM facilities and transmitting it back to Beijing is a threat to our national security.

Moreover, the battle with Democrats to maintain the physical beauty of our country continues. Democrats advocate for policies, such as the Green New Deal, that consist of hypocritical plans to tear down trees and disrupt habitats in my district and across the country. By 2030, if the Biden administration's national target for wind energy is to make up 20% of our electrical portfolio; it would potentially result in the death of 1 million birds annually. The species of birds that reside in my district are not the only ones harmed. For example, wind expansion in California could result in the extinction of the Golden Eagle.
