This afternoon we gave a 1hr Naloxone & Overdose Prevention training for the wonderful staff at the Good Shepherd Shelter!

We covered stigma associated with drug use, our programs at PCHR, harm reduction tips, how to recognize & administer Naloxone, myths surrounding Fentanyl exposure, and reversing Xylazine/Opiate combination overdoses.

Thank you so much for having myself, and our little harm reductionist come visit the shelter to provide education & Naloxone

  The individuals who use drugs staying at the shelter, deserve to live in the event of an overdose and I’m glad to have trained the staff overseeing the people floating in and out, on overdose prevention education and the state of the drug supply in Wilmington.
  The more education & access to Naloxone, the better we can prevent overdose deaths.
  Port City Harm Reduction has a few main components - Education for the public & organizations/businesses.
  Drug user rights.
  S3x worker rights. (SEX worker rights -- LOL!!!)

  I just want to make sure it’s known though, that our focus is to educate & provide tools (Naloxone) to those who work with people who use drugs, and to support the people who use drugs in Wilmington.
