In the late 1950s and early 60s, my mother's Aunt Matilda "Til" (Meyer) Foley, whose husband "Uncle Dan" Foley had DIVORCED her after Cletus and then Jeanette were born, then lived in a small, old trailer on a pony farm where we got to ride -- until my legs were too long (39" inseam now) -- had all the grandchildren of my mother's parents -- girls for a week, and the next week just for the boys.
And Cletus's kids, too.
This in Batesville, Indiana -- NOT named for Norman Bates. It was the Casket-Making Capital of the USA then -- but NOW, of the WORLD!!!

In the attic of her about 1910 "Swiss Chalet" style home, so popular in the Ohio River or "New Rhine" Region, was an ancient stand-up, wind-up Victrola and TONS of 78s -- but THIS ONE is what I liked to play the most!!!
Cletus, of course, had long left his mother's house, but Jeanette had suffered a high fever in her infancy, and at 35 years old, had the mentality of a six-year-old and quite a lot of a beard, so she was always part of the action.
Once, Jeanette took me to see "The H Man" -- and it scared the CRAP OUT ME FOR YEARS!!! I searched every manhole and storm sewer drain I passed -- for years -- for the mutant radioactive OOOOOZZZ coming out to DISSOLVE ME TOO!!!

I lived in Kenan-built Carolina Apartments (but George Cutter owned it then -- as he still does TODAY), in 2015 when I was ATTEMPTED-EVICTED because I kept blogging about the HUGE DRUG-TRAFFICKING and "CRACK-WHORING" on my floor -- but Gold Walker "saved me" to one of HER apartments, the OTHER APARTMENTS THERE had FAR BIGGER Drug Traffickers than even George Cutter!!!
This photo shows the black guy and Steven Rose -- who stood CLOSEST to Bill Clinton and shook his hand first, afterward -- when he came to Wilmington to campaign for Hillary. The black guy was a HUGE TRAFFICKER from my Carolina Apartments floor, and Steven ADMITTED that he and his wife Madison "Maddy" (Holland) Rose -- while working for Deborah Ross's failed Senatorial Campaign, and Roy Cooper's SUCCESSFUL Gubernatorial Campaign (both in 2016), that Roy Cooper is a HUGE DRUG TRAFFICKER -- but at least not an ABJECT RACIST!!!
The WHOLE TIME I lived in Gold Walker's 205 South 4th Street apartment, Steven and Maddy sold TONS OF DRUGS from Gold's apartment next door -- and next door on the OTHER SIDE was St. Mary's Catholic GRADE SCHOOL.
And First Presbyterian's PRE-SCHOOL was DIRECTLY across the street.

ON SET CINEMA is presenting a very special one-night only screening of the North Carolina filmed cult classic, BLUE VELVET! We’ll be hatching the plan and watching the film at Arlene’s Diner (Savorez Restaurant) in beautiful Wilmington, NC on Sunday, May 5th, 2019 - I will be projecting the film directly onto the outside of the diner! Savorez Restaurant will be open for drinks and appetizers during the screening.
Blue Velvet makeup and special effects artist Jeff Goodwin will be a special guest at the screening! Jeff has been in the business for nearly 40 years and has worked on over 100 different productions, including Super Mario Bros, The Last of the Mohicans, Rambo III, The Sinner, Under the Dome, Empire Records, Virus, The Birds II, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, King Kong Lives and many many more! Jeff created the infamous severed ear from Blue Velvet! He will be doing an autograph signing & Q&A before the movie.

I DID speak with my mother today for over 15 minutes and even told her about the VETERANS chanting to IMPEACH DONALD TRUMP!!! Mom was fine with everything -- even LIKED that I had emailed Mayor Pete Buttigieg and California Congressman Eric Swalwell about the HUGE CRIMES of the WEALTHY KENANS (which is NOT us).
I told Mom, too, many more details about "Kennedy", and that I'd emailed my siblings asking for a little more money this week (I go into the hospital for Cardiac Catheterization and maybe a Stent on Friday).
We had a GREAT TIME TALKING the whole time, and even told each other we love each other, before getting off.
So, I guess my STRATEGY is A-WORKIN'.
