Before getting to this morning's subject, which is NOT reflected in the title or the above story, I need to make some comments about my wealthy relatives:
1. Please remember that the various Kenan Charitable Trusts (now for 102 years the largest in the WORLD supporting University Education), were all SUPER-ENDOWED many years ago, so there, Tom is mostly playing with money that is NOT HIS, personally.
2. And you CANNOT BEAT supporting Education and the Arts -- a Kenan hallmark!!! In the mid-1970s, Ben Zion Leuchter (Son of Zion Who Spreads Light), who owned a chain of medium-sized cities newspapers, told me he assumed the Kenans were JEWS because of that (and Kenan being an Old Testament name).
However, in this nearly nine-minute film (FILLED with stills I have used in this blog), 20% into it I noticed NO NON-WHITES in the video (which is ALSO true of the several OTHER videos of Tom getting UNC Awards -- it's like UNC is just a FACTORY OF RACISM)!!!
So I watched carefully and there are a FEW black and brown STUDENTS in crowd scenes. But I NEVER HEARD of an educational institution without "High Jews" -- they so often attracted to the profession, and not a single of the many names of people in the videos "seemed Jewish".
The Kenan support of the Arts is of TRADITIONAL Arts, to repeat themselves in excellent carvings, paintings, music, etc. The point is to HOLD OFF MODERNITY.
And it was Frank Kenan's brother James G. Kenan of Atlanta, whose nephew he sent me to for legal help in 1990, who told me the Kenans hate only Jews more than they hate "niggers".
You might recall how in Richard Nixon's days, the Racist Call of White Republicans was "Law and Order!!!" -- which most of us pronounced "Lawn Ordure" (ordure meaning excrement). And just as FAKE-CHRISTIAN-HATEFULLY, the Kenan Family promotes TRADITION of White Supremacy. Here is how nicely it is put on the back cover of The Kenan Family, 1999, Mercer University Press:

This is great, and although Kenans were the STAUNCHEST of Confederate Rebels, we ALL need to get past all of that, Frank Kenan's GREAT-UNCLE, William Rand Kenan, Sr., with the Pastor of First Presbyterian actually CAUSED the 1898 Wilmington Insurrection -- because a Republican President ("party polarity" was reversed then), removed him as head of the Customs House (now Nixon Federal Court House), and replaced him with a BLACK MAN.
As you see, William Rand Kenan, Sr. looks a tetch PSYCHOTIC!!!
Previously, as a member of the TOP Confederate sharp-shooters -- the Duplin Rifles (half made up of Kenans) -- William R. Kenan, Sr. was credited as the ONLY Confederate to penetrate Washington, DC and take a shot at Lincoln -- whom he missed, but killed his aide.
In 1898, Wilmington was the largest, wealthiest city in North Carolina -- a town where elected positions were held equally by blacks and whites -- and MANY blacks were prominent in business. AND the Customs Inspector made FORTUNES -- it being the BEST position in the state where HUGE BRIBES were to be made --
Yes, THIS is the actual Kenan Family Tradition!!!
This is the ONLY successful Coup D'etat in US History -- CAUSED BY KENANS!!!
The Confederate Mace was the Symbol of the Episcopal Church's Power in the "Old South" -- until it was FORCED into retirement in 2005 -- and alumni donations to Sewanee DROPPED precipitously because of that.
And the wealthy Kenans have given the Episcopal Church -- especially Sewanee -- nearly $100,000,000.00 over the last 90 years -- the SAME organization that murdered Tennessee Williams and stole his estate from Harvard.
