In an August 2014 interview with The New York Times to promote FourTwoNine, a magazine, he claimed to have used crystal meth.[9]

My neighbor Gerry longed to go yesterday to the celebration for Gianni Giotta, who died last month at the age of 96. It was held at his Caffe Trieste which he opened in 1956 down the hill from us on Grant and Vallejo. (Francis Ford Coppola wrote much of his screenplay for The Godfather typing away at a table there.)
Gerry wasn't sure however she could navigate it all with her legs and ankles. So I went for her and recorded this rendition of "God Bless America" sung in his memory since Gianni loved this country so much ever since he immigrated here with his wife Ida from their fishing village of Rovigno on the Istrian peninsula - which now belongs to Croatia.
I think this is his daughter Sonia singing.
We left-wing North Beach beats and hippies and bohemians give no quarter to right-wing rabble re: our patriotism and love of this country.
I was so moved by this yesterday. "This is so North Beach," said Gerry, tearing up this morning when I played this for her. "This is just perfect."

Mention Clinton and emails you get pushback re: Rice and Powell.
Mention Ailes and sexual harassment you get pushback re: Bill Clinton's history.
Saying one person did something doesn't make what the other person did right or false. It all harkens back to a four-year-old brother being caught with his hand in the cookie jar and his defense being pointing accusatorily as his two-year-old sister and saying she already did it, see the crumbs still on her mouth.
I suggest we start mentioning Trump. There is no comparison for what he's up to ... well, maybe if George Wallace and Ross Perot had a political mutant.
The GOP convention is a week away. Will we be comparing it to Chicago in 1968?
