1. Most CNN reporting is on the crisis involving Israel, speculation and lawyer-yacking on the nice Christian boy who baked his son in his car, and a Tower of Babel over Immigration Issues like none that has ever before been created. Also, any incident in which someone BURPS in an airplane or worse.
Drug-addicted (legal and illegal), US Citizens LOVE all this claptrap, and ratings must have gone up. CNN's head even admitted that CNN does not report much on environmental issues (although he thinks they are extremely important), because Americans will just change the channel.
And while some, like Jake Tapper, John Berman, Dana Bash, and Don Lemon DO ask tough questions -- and even pursue Republicans (and Democrats-gone-Bad), when they REFUSE to answer good questions -- others like Wolf Blitzer are happy with the STUPIDEST answers. Anderson Cooper, who came out gay eight years after everyone knew about it, seems insightful, but often falls back to the BIG BANKS and WALL STREET positions that Gloria Vanderbilt, his mother, brought him up to serve (after showing suitable empathy for victims of any particular non-sense). No one else in the News Business is seen photographed at so many ONE-PERCENTER PARTIES as Anderson. Erin Burnett is a strange case:
Since returning from maternity leave, Erin has gone softer, not strongly advocating for the ONE PERCENT, and often her questions that clearly seem to be to elicit a ONE-PERCENTER'S TALKING POINT, get the OPPOSITE response, which I find QUITE HOOTY!!!
But ENOUGH of that -- it CLEARLY is not going to change -- and NO ONE has reported ANYTHING about Rupert Murdoch's current, serious negotiations to buy TIME/Warner, including CNN, since Brian Stelter did last Sunday, and Huffington Post before then.
ONE Tamir Interceptor costs upward of $35,000.00, and one rocket coming from Gaza or elsewhere is estimated to cost $800.00. Anyway, a few facts about ISRAEL'S IRON DOME, which several days ago, both Jake Tapper and John Berman were in the habit of mentioning was paid for MOSTLY by US Taxpayers -- I've seen 80%, but cannot now verify that number. BUT the US House in 2010 at President Obama's urging, voted 410 - 4 to pay $205 Million in 2011, and Israel promised to invest $1 billion -- although I find no figures to show what Israel has ACTUALLY paid.
In 2012, Leon Panetta said that he was sending an additional $70 million, that President Obama had instructed him to somehow find in the current budget, and then Congress appropriated another $680 million, and REQUESTED that since the USA was investing upward of $900 million, that the US SHOULD have rights to the technologies for her own use -- but NOWHERE does it say this happened (increases profits of arms manufacturers NOT to have such an agreement).

As you can see, our moving to the Red Room Cabaret at Act II Stages, has given us a more comfortable and professional venue.
1. What seemed quite obvious to me at the meeting, was that when we OLD COOTS discuss things rather than reading our writing, we are very SLOW, with a tendency toward side comments and hesitation. I don't mean to pick on anyone, and those speaking were some of my favorite people. This is not true of reading prepared writing.
No wonder we have trouble keeping anyone half young in the group -- they have so much more energy.
I will say that several members made pointed comments about the interference THE JAW and The Saved Dentist had caused Leader Colin over the finding of a new venue. The Saved Dentist left early, and at lunch I told THE JAW off for his flagrant lack of knowledge of grammar, a DISRESPECT of one of the most important tools of a writer.
I don't think ANY of us will put up with their "literary bullying" anymore.
And Robin was back after a couple of months, and he read from a new piece that will need to be novel length -- although it is non-fiction. It seems in Sayulita, Estado Nayarit where he now lives, he has learned of a recent murder involving not only the LARGEST house in town that is said to be a bona-fide castle-without-mote, but Drug Mafia ties, etc., and Robin has been getting to know all the actors.
I am heartened that I am not the ONLY ONE who has put himself into real mortal danger, the State of Nayarit seeming to be FAR MORE CORRUPTED by Drug Mafia than Jalisco (including P.V.), is. But Robin was more than half an hour late (as he always is), and afterward that had some folks yacking about his lack of respect for the group -- and that he starts writing promising things, but no one hears of his competing them.
But TRUTH BE TOLD, Robin, approaching 40 years old, is like an erect, throbbing PINGA, and completely intense about everything -- so I admit to jealousy, not over his sexiness, but over his ability to capture and hold the audience. At lunch (which he managed to arrive at 20 minutes late), he then commandeered discussion for the entire rest of the time.
And professing heterosexual men are NEVER as scary as OUT GAYS -- LOL!!!
2. I did NOT have a chance to even mention that one of the principals in Act II Stages and I had a brief discussion of my background and experience (including some political details), and he has offered that I might write a stage production. Now, we had NO TIME to really get into it at all, but a likely one-man show about Tennessee Williams -- which necessarily would NOT include the most controversial of my revelations, so I would not risk being MURDERED by some rabid Republican in the audience, and they ALL would have paid to be ENTERTAINED about a deceased playwright, not to think about their own LIFE VIEWS.
3. As expected, I have NOT heard back from Jamie Lee Sutherland or his attorney Rishi Nair, so I will proceed to a higher corporate authority on Monday -- and I suppose the Head of the Episcopal Church as well.
