When David Lynch came to Wilmington to shoot 'Blue Velvet,' things got predictably weird

Lynch spent time in Wilmington in the mid 1980s, when the director made one of his best-known and most notorious films.

Now, when I first returned from Political Exile in Mexico to Wilmington about the first of 2011, I knew MaDonna McMahon, a real estate agent with an office right on Market Street near where the then defunkt David's Gay Bar had been, entrance in back -- speakeasy door. 

One day I was telling her about Robby, and she said she had sold him a house!!!

So, she checked and he said to give me his phone number, and we agreed to meet by my going to his house -- but when I got there, Robby REFUSED to open the door, claiming that I wouldn't recognize him. I had his email address, and occasionally tried to communicate with him, but he never responded.

A few years later, I found his photo on a church website -- St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church -- one that had REALLY HELPED HOMELESS PEOPLE (including me), OUT in 2011 and '12.

And Robby had dated Thomas S. Kenan III most recently, before me!!!

Hi Robby,

 

Yesterday, when I heard that David Lynch died, I thought of you and wondered how you have been. His films are truly extraordinary, and of course Blue Velvet was filmed in Kenan-built Carolina (Deep River), Apartments while I lived in Atlanta and dated you there.

 

It was only at the end of our dating, that I learned you had most previously dated Thomas S. Kenan III. You never said for how long, but it must have been serious because you went to parties with him where people asked for pianos or organs for their churches – which he gave generously, a habit begun by Henry Flagler, where most of the Kenan money came from.

 

And that is really ALL you told me about him – although I did not try to pry. When I called Tom at home from his office phone at Kenan Oil in Chapel Hill in 1990, he spoke very fondly of you (as did I). Now that I’m 73 and have even SHRUNK two inches to 6’ 9”, I have recontacted a very few people who were truly worth knowing, and you certainly were one of those. I’m not looking to “rekindle” anything, but I’d love to meet you for a cup of coffee or a beer and hear how life has been for you.

 

My life has been truly wild – I discovered the major – even International – crimes of both my Kenan and Meyer sides. My mother blackmailed my bisexual father into marriage – to hide her Swastikas behind the iconic Kenan name. She perfected NAZI Mind Control for the CIA while working at Procter & Gamble in Cincinnati where I was later born.

 

Dad died at dawn on Easter morning 2014 at age 96, and Mom is now 102 and living alone in her house in Raleigh – because my sister Jane lives five miles away. She only stopped driving a year ago. And she DID organize the Hard Drug Mafias of both Wilmington and Atlanta with Nixon’s Aide John Ehrlichman (whom I knew, but not what they were up to), in the 1980s & ‘90s. 

Today, Mom thinks that Trump was sent by GOD to fix all problems of the Earth. My brother and other sister and I know she is  NUTS  (and reads a different Bible than we did)!!!

 

Anyway, I now have a two-bedroom apartment that I’ve lived alone in since 2017. My political blog – https://theweathercontinues.blogspot.com -- which you still get by email -- if not blocked or sent directly to Trash. 

My blog had been suppressed for years and many of my emails as well – until a week or so ago – when I FINALLY got through to the right person in the US JUSTICE DEPARTMENT – and now I get over 1,000 hits per day from each of several countries including Germany, Austria, France, Hong Kong, Brazil, and the USA. I do know Gov. Josh Stein & Atty. Gen. Jeff Jackson!!!

 

And I ALSO made a point -- several years ago -- of thanking your Pastor Mark Opgrand, as your congregation was one of the most generous when I was homeless here in 2011 & ’12.

 

I should keep this short, but also let you know that Tom Kenan called me in September 2023, to thank me for a great write-up I gave his stepmother, Betty. He said he and I are actually 7^th cousins. And STRANGELY, for various reasons, I have been caught-up fighting illegal activities of several Kenan-controlled companies, including Exxon-Mobil, Bank of America, Coca-Cola, and Kenan Advantage Group/COSTCO not only in the USA but in foreign countries.

 

Tom was quite friendly about my opposition to Kenan Companies, and I should let you know that now at 86, he is suffering from hairline fractures up and down his spine from a life of horseback riding, and at that time was ordered to remain still as much as possible and not to travel even by automobile if possible. I have not heard since then how he is doing. I have had many health problems as well, but now have them all under control – thank God!!!
