Leaders We Deserve

Scott, we all saw Trump’s dumpster fire of an administration take office this week. But today, I’m thinking about an even bigger issue than Trump himself.

How did the Democratic Party get to the place where we actually lost to someone like Donald Trump – not once, but twice – and how do we fix it?

There are many answers to this question. I keep coming back to some big ones:

1. Democrats have failed at effectively communicating our message.

2. Our party has prioritized consultants and big donors over working people.

3. Young people have been sidelined instead of elevated in the discussion.

We can change this, Scott. I’m running for Vice Chair of the Democratic National Committee to help lead the fight to transform our party for the better.

We’re going to make the Democratic Party the strongest it’s been in over half a century. And we’re going to elect young people across the country to lead the way. But we can only do it together – that’s why your grassroots support matters.

Welby, the head of Church of England and spiritual leader of the global Anglican Communion, laid down his bishop’s crozier – a ceremonial long staff – in a symbolic act that marks the end of his ministry. Most of his official functions have been delegated to the Archbishop of York, Stephen Cottrell, as the church embarks on the lengthy process of selecting a new leader.

Welby had announced in November that he would resign after an independent investigation into the late John Smyth, a prominent attorney who the inquiry said sexually, psychologically and physically abused about 30 boys and young men in the United Kingdom and 85 in Africa from the 1970s until his death in 2018.

Dr. Kaari Snook graduated from North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2002. Inspired by her high school teacher, Mr. Cramer, who encouraged her curiosity through science projects like training rats in a Skinner Box , Dr. Snook found her passion for veterinary medicine.

Outside of her profession, Dr. Snook enjoys boxing workouts that keep her physically and mentally fit. She also plays the ukulele, both solo and with local groups, and participates in events like the annual Ukulele Retreat in Mount Airy.

Her favorite snack is popcorn, and she loves unwinding with a cup of herbal tea on cold evenings. Dr. Snook shares her home with a Chihuahua named Chip, another Chihuahua named Charlie (who splits his time with her parents), and two cats, Walter and Rose.
