Recall that behind religions are Mystery Schools; this is where we find all the spiritual overlap between various faiths. Religions, however, have been a means for political control for thousands of years. John Shelby Spong, a retired American bishop of the Episcopal Church explains that religion is a business and it is used as a control mechanism. He claimed that the concept of hell was invented and that religion is also "in the guilt producing control business.”
