Relevant Magazine, a Christian publication geared toward Millennials, recently reported on a leaked government report with a disturbing finding.
Nineteen of the top 20 Facebook pages for Christians are run by Eastern European “troll farms,” mostly in Kosovo and Macedonia.
These troll farms post content to Facebook that provokes, outrages, scares and divides people.
They also post plenty of standard inspirational content, building credibility for when they post content meant to divide Christians from their neighbors.
Collectively, these 19 fake Facebook pages reach about 75 million people a month on Facebook.
People are more likely to share, comment on, and engage with content that arouses strong negative emotions.
Facebook’s algorithm loves provocative content because it garners a lot of engagement. The more people interact with a post, the more Facebook amplifies and spreads that post.
>>> JUST NOW!!!:
WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) - Parents stormed the New Hanover County Board of Education building to object to the current mask mandate imposed on schools.
A group of people tried to storm the door to gain access to the meeting that was set to begin at 5:00 p.m. Tuesday evening.
Several law enforcement officers were present and didn’t allow entry because many were not wearing masks.
Despite objections, people not wearing masks were not allowed entry.
This is a developing story. Check back later for updates.
